About Us

The Michigan Campus House Church is a church that enters campuses and community homes, primarily composed of students/visiting scholars, faculty, recent graduates and working young people from campuses around Ann Arbor, as well as community families of different ages and backgrounds.

We have the Joyous Bible Study Fellowship (JBSF) on the University of Michigan campus, which is attended by Chinese students/scholars and faculty from the University of Michigan (UM), Eastern Michigan University (EMU), and surrounding high schools. We have a campus Bible study fellowship every Friday evening and free, delicious Chinese food; every Sunday we have on-campus worship and the iTIM Timothy Discipleship. We also have many other exciting activities suitable for young people, including field trips.

In addition, we have family fellowships in various communities – God's Love House, which holds a Sunday Breaking of Bread meeting and a love feast every Sunday morning. We also have restaurant fellowships and family Bible study groups every week.

Furthermore, in response to the growing need for mental health services, we can also provide free psychological counseling and guidance to help everyone achieve healthy growth in all aspects of mind, body, and spirit.

Following the Great Commission commanded by the Lord, we spread the gospel and build disciples in schools and communities, among students and families, and among people from diverse cultural backgrounds. We warmly welcome you to join our loving family, where we help, care for, and love one another!

Our Faith

We agree with the Evangelical Fellowship's core belief that salvation is by grace alone, faith alone, Christ alone, and the glory of God alone. Our statement of faith is in full accordance with the position adopted by the Evangelical Fellowship of America at its General Conference on June 26, 2008.

1. We believe in the one true God, the Creator of all things, who is holy and infinitely perfect, and who exists eternally in the loving union of three equal divine persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God possesses infinite knowledge and supreme power. In eternity, He graciously ordained to redeem a people for Himself and to renew all things for His glory.

Bible

2. We believe that God, through the words of human authors, has revealed himself to us in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Every word of the Bible is inspired by God; it is error-free in its original text, fully revealing God's purpose of salvation and serving as the ultimate authority for judging every field of human knowledge and activity. Therefore, we must believe all the teachings of the Bible, obey all its requirements, and trust in all its promises.

The Human Condition

3. We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His own image, but they were tempted by Satan and sinned. In Adam, all people, by their nature and by choice, are sinners, separated from God, and subject to His wrath. Only through God's salvation in Jesus Christ can we be saved, reconciled to God, and renewed.

Jesus Christ

4. We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, possessing two natures in one person. Jesus is the Messiah promised to Israel by God, conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived without sin, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, rose from the dead in bodily form, ascended to heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Mediator.

The Work of Christ

5. We believe that Jesus Christ is our representative and substitute. His blood, shed on the cross, was a perfect and complete sacrifice for our sins. His atoning death and victorious resurrection are the sole foundation of salvation.

Holy Spirit

6. We believe that everything the Holy Spirit does glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. He makes the world aware of sin and gives sinners new life. Sinners are baptized in Him and united with Christ, becoming heirs in God's family. The Holy Spirit also dwells in the hearts of believers, illuminating, guiding, equipping, and empowering them so that their lives and service may resemble Christ.

7. We believe that the true church is composed of all those who are justified in Christ by God's grace alone. They are united by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ, joined to the head, Christ. The local church reveals the true church, and its members should consist only of believers. The Lord Jesus established two ordinances—baptism and the Lord's Supper. These two ordinances manifest the gospel in a visible way. Although they are not the means of salvation, when the church practices these ordinances with true faith, it can strengthen and nurture believers.

The life of believers

8. We believe that God's grace in justifying is inseparable from His power and purpose in sanctifying. God commands us to love Him with the highest love, to love others with selfless love, and to live out our faith through mutual care, mercy on the poor, and justice for the oppressed. We must struggle against the spiritual forces of evil through God's word, the power of the Holy Spirit, and earnest prayer in the name of Christ. We must fulfill Christ's Great Commission, making disciples of all nations and continually bearing witness to the gospel in word and deed.

The Second Coming of Christ

9. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will personally return in a glorious and bodily form. Only God knows the time of Christ's second coming, but we must continually look forward to that day. This is our blessed hope, and it is the driving force for believers to live a godly life, selflessly serve, and actively engage in missionary work.

Response and Eternal Ending

10. We believe that God commands all people in the world to believe in the Gospel, to repent of their sins, and to turn to God through confession, repentance, and acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that God will raise the dead in bodily form and will judge the world, condemning unbelievers to eternal conscious punishment, and enabling believers to share eternal bliss with the Lord in the new heaven and new earth, so that His glorious grace may be praised.
